As Mayor, Rich Hrivnak has worked hard to bring back our hard-earned tax dollars to the community. In the past three years, Rich has worked with Federal, State and County officials to bring in over a quarter of a million dollars in grants back to Plum Borough!
Mayor Hrivnak has also worked hard in making sure that our community gets the recognition that it deserves. During the last PGA Open at Oakmont County Club, Rich was at the forefront of promoting the fact that the venue is located almost entirely in Plum Borough.
Rich also worked with State Representative Joe Markosek and the PA Turnpike Commission to have the rest stop on the turnpike appropriately named the Oakmont/Plum Plaza.
Since becoming Mayor, Rich has been determined to make Plum the safest place to live. He has made it a priority to give our police officers the best equipment possible to do their jobs so that they can continue to provide a safe community environment for our residents. Our police cars have been outfitted with some of the best equipment available in law enforcement today. Every car now has a video camera mounted on their dash and a state-of-the-art computer system which allows our officers to obtain critical information without leaving their patrol car.
Rich initiated and supports the effort to bring a revenue-generating town center to Plum Borough. Rich realizes that we must bring revenue generating development in to our Borough so that we can keep taxes in check for our home owners. The Mayor is also looking out for our children. Along with former school director Rena Koteski, they founded "Plum Reads". "Plum Reads is a non-profit organization that is committed to making our preschoolers reading ready by the time they enter kindergarten. Mayor Hrivnak is also honoring those men and women who made Plum what it is today. He has proposed that a memorial be built to honor our Borough's rich coal mining history.
